A passion that burns. Desire ignites a dangerous flame in Bizet’s Carmen. When a fiercely independent woman pulls a soldier into her orbit, obsession spirals into jealousy, betrayal, and tragedy. Packed with bold melodies and irresistible rhythms, this fiery story of seduction and destruction blazes all the way to its unforgettable final moment.

A heart that melts. In a glittering imperial court, an icy princess guards her freedom by rejecting suitors who fail to solve her impossible riddles. When a courageous prince dares challenge her, a high-stakes game of wit and will begins, where every answer could be deadly. Featuring “Nessun dorma,” the most popular tenor aria of all time, Puccini’s Turandot brings striking spectacle and soaring sound to the stage in a North Carolina Opera company premiere.

A love that transcends. The mythical musician Orfeo descends into the underworld to reclaim his lost love, bound by one impossible condition: he must not look back. As doubt and longing take hold, each step forward risks losing her forever. In an intimate concert presentation, Gluck’s Orfeo & Euridice is stripped to its emotional core, where music carries the full weight of love, loss, and the fragile hope of holding on.

At North Carolina Opera, a concert performance is all about the music! In this performance of Gluck’s Orfeo & Euridice, there are not large sets, costumes, or traditional staging. Instead, the soloists and chorus, along with the full orchestra and conductor, are all on stage to perform the opera as a concert.
In the audience, you’ll get an impressive view of the artists as they work together to bring the dynamic score to life.
Your digital tickets will be available in your NC Opera Account Manager in July. If you prefer printed tickets to be mailed directly to you or held for you at will call, please let us know by contacting the Box Office at 919.792.3853 or boxoffice@ncopera.org.
